An RA is a fellow student trained to develop community among the residents of a hall. RAs are trained in emergency procedures, roommate mediation, programming and campus resources. There are two RAs per freshman hall. RAs report to undergraduate student Head Residents. Each residence hall community has a full-time Community Coordinator for their community to serve as an additional resource to residents (see the Staff Directory).
Washers and dryers are provided in each residence area. Laundry is included in student fees and do not require any quarters for operation.
All residence hall buildings have window blinds.
Residence hall facilities are not open during winter break (the break between fall and spring semesters). Residents may leave their personal belongings (at their own risk) in their room during this break.
The residence halls are open during Fall, Thanksgiving and Spring Breaks. Residents do not need to move out during these breaks.
New students will be notified of their room assignment and given contact information for their roommate(s) in late June, after the summer SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration) Sessions.
