Design A Life. Practice Along the Path.
Maybe you've already set your course. Or perhaps you're still exploring. Through Berry's distinctive, four-year guided experience, you'll take ownership of your education and steer it toward a purposeful life.
Phase One:
Launch
You'll learn the basics of personal reflection and goal setting as you start developing essential academic skills and strategies in your First Year Seminar. And beginning with New-Student Orientation, you'll find your footing as you explore a new place, make new friends and connect with a knowledgeable advisor. (They'll offer guidance and support – at every step – to help you clarify your interests, major and convictions.)
Phase Two:
Design
You'll use your reflection skills to set goals rooted in your strengths and values. And in "Designing Your Life at Berry and Beyond," you'll work with trusted mentors to identify a set of firsthand learning opportunities aligned with your academic, personal and professional goals. (Understanding what matters most to you brings focus when considering the possibilities.)
Phase Three:
Immerse
You'll form a better sense of aspirations and ambitions. Pressure test them with Signature Learning Experiences – for example, campus-based LifeWorks roles, mentoring, research, internships, study abroad and community-based projects, to build a foundation for personal growth and professional success. (Before determining your true north, it helps to try out a direction. Or three.)
Phase Four:
Connect
You've gained valuable academic, professional and personal experience. Now consider how the pieces fit together in your Signature Experience Seminar and shape a story that truly distinguishes you – one that you alone can own. (Because you'll know why the path you've chosen is important – to you, and to the world – you can move forward with purpose and confidence.)
Outcome:
The Berry Graduate
Equipped with an impressive collection of skills and practical experiences to match, you'll leave here with a sense of where you're headed and a better understanding of the person, citizen and community member you want to become. (These are proven ingredients to meaningfully contribute to your profession and to society. They also happen to make for a great life.)
