Berry College provides access to a ChatRoll instance to promote civil discussion among our watchers. We require that you either create a free ChatRoll account or login with Facebook/Twitter to participate in chat. We encourage eagle-related chat in the forum and expect community contributors to adhere to expected netiquette and guidelines. This includes ensuring that comments and content are not:
- Deemed inappropriate or unlawful
- Profane, vulgar, racist or bashes other users
- Considered spamming or overly repetitive
- Used for self or commercial promotion
Berry College reserves the right, but is not obligated, to remove any post that does not follow these guidelines and may ban users as necessary. The chat forum is not moderated on a continual basis though Berry tries to address complaints within a reasonable timeframe. We expect the community to share these guidelines with others as needed and to not “feed the trolls” that will inevitably show up in any public chat forum. As difficult as it is, ignoring users who intend to sow discord is the best approach. You may report repeat offenders of these guidelines at www.berry.edu/eaglecam/report/ but please DO NOT report other regular chatters for variations of opinions or other trivial reasons. We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue the chat function at any time should we deem it necessary.
As a note to school teachers: Berry does not recommend that you enable the live chat feature while showing the eagle stream in your classroom. Although there are many knowledgeable eagle watchers who participate in chat, there are also other general conversations happening that are not always moderated.
Berry College thanks you in advance for your help in creating a positive online environment.
