Got Milk? Come Tour the Dairy Saturday

The student run-dairy at Berry College will be open for guided tours Saturday (April 7.)

The tours will be from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Cost is $3 for students and $7 for adults. To book a tour, email AgriEd@berry.edu 24 hours in advance or call (615) 925-2548.

During the tour, guests will learn about the life cycle of a cow and how many gallons a cow produces in a day as well as tour the milking parlour.

“AgriEducation is extremely important to help teach the public about the dairy industry since there are often misconceptions about the industry or misunderstandings about between farmers and consumers,” student tour guide Carissa Yeaney said. “With only 2% of the population being in the agricultural industry tours likes these can be a great day to educate people about the food they consume.”
