Operating out of the Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center, the Department of Recreation offers a well-equipped fitness facility with a variety of weekly group fitness classes (e.g. yoga, Zumba, Barre, cycling). Our certified personal trainers are available for equipment orientations, fitness assessments, periodized programs, and personalized training. We also offer small group training throughout the academic year.
Personal Training
The Department of Recreation’s personal trainers are ready to help you achieve your physical fitness goals. A trainer will work with you individually to develop a personalized training program. All personal trainers are Berry College student employees and maintain a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
For students personal training services are free. Students interested in learning more and/or scheduling an appointment with a personal trainer, please complete this student interest form.
For non-student Cage Center members, a fee-based personal training program is available. Cage Center members interested in learning more and/or scheduling an appointment with a personal trainer, please complete the member interest form.
Here are personal training fees and packages available for non-student Cage Center members:
- One-time individual session: $40.00 per session
- A 7 Week / 14 session package: $420.00 package
- 2 in a group - Individual Session: $30.00 per individual/per session
- 3 or 4 in a group - Individual Session: $20.00 per individual/per session
Each session is one-hour. The sessions include pre and post fitness assessments. Sessions can be condensed and extended beyond the seven weeks based on the client and trainer’s availability. Payment in full is due at the first session. Payment can be made by F/S account charge or through an online payment method.
Small Group Training
The Department of Recreation’s small group student training program is a six-week commitment that offers the benefit of working with a small group (3-5) of your peers with the expertise and attention of working with a certified personal trainer for 2 sessions each week. This is a student only program.
The program is free, but participants must agree to a $50.00 deposit charge, which will only be processed to participants’ student account if the participant miss three or more sessions.

Group Fitness
