Lisa Reams earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Florida State University and her Master of Music Performance from the University of Illinois. Mrs. Reams taught at Urbana Middle School (IL, 2006-2007) and went on to teach band at South Effingham High School (GA) where her ensemble received straight superior ratings at the 2008 and 2009 LGPE festival. In 2009, when her daughter was born, she left full-time teaching and began part-time work as a beginning band instructor in the Savannah-Chatham County school district and taught music part-time at Armstrong Atlantic University State University.
In addition to her vast experience as a teacher, Lisa has regularly performed as a professional clarinetist. She has played with such ensembles as the Savannah Philharmonic, Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and the Rome Symphony Orchestra. She spent one season with the Ohio Light Opera Orchestra and released three albums through Albany Records. Her recent performances include “The Nutcracker” with the Gwinnett Ballet and Georgia Ballet, “Into the Woods” with the Savannah College of Art and Design (Savannah, GA), and “Frozen” (Rome, GA). She currently runs the Joyful Noise Homeschool Music program as the band director and general music instructor. Lisa considers it a joy and privilege to share her love of music with her students each week.
