Dr. Kelsey Rice is a historian of the modern Middle East and Central Eurasia whose research focuses on the cultural history of Azerbaijan and Iran.

Research Interests
Dr. Rice is a historian of the modern Middle East and Central Eurasia. Her current research focuses on the history of Azerbaijan and the Turkic intellectual networks that spanned the Russian Empire, Ottoman Empire, and Iran in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She has published on the history of Azerbaijani theater and on historic and contemporary relations between Iran and the South Caucasus.
