Jonathan Parker teaches Bible and theology at Berry. He completed his Ph.D. in Old Testament at the University of Durham (England), with special emphasis on the Theological Interpretation of Scripture. His research interests include the use of the Bible's history of reception in comparative Jewish and Christian interpretation.
Some of Dr. Parker's courses include: 'Interpreting the Old Testament,' 'Interpreting the New Testament,' "Knowing Jesus through the Old Testament," "Reading the Torah with Jews and Christians," "The Jewish World of Jesus: The Apocrypha, Dead Sea Scrolls, and Beyond," and "Violence, Ethnicity, and Land in the Bible."
Dr. Parker is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church in North America and an active supporter of a number of student groups on campus (including Lambda Sigma and the Jewish Student Group).
