Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics Garner Cochran teaches courses in differential equations, linear algebra, mathematical modeling and calculus — with a focus on modeling real-world phenomena in the classroom. His research interests are in extremal graph theory, network science, along with algorithmic problems in computational biology and bioinformatics.
Dr. Cochran completed his Ph.D. at the University of South Carolina under the supervision of Eva Czabarka and his BA in Mathematics from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. While not doing math or teaching, Dr. Cochran enjoys hiking, cooking, gardening, hanging out with his wife and watching college football (Go Dawgs and Go Gamecocks!).
