Event Description What is protected free speech? Does a Nazi protest qualified as protected free speech? This event connects to Constitution Day and educating the Berry Community about the U.S. Constitution. The film educates the process of getting a case to the Supreme Court and the meaning of free speech. It also describes the turmoil of a Jewish community in Skokie, Illinois when a Nazi activism group decides to march through the community. Following the film showing, students will engage in a discussion about proper criteria to determine what is protected free speech and what is not. |
