Event Description Selected Works (Collage on Masonite)
Frje Echeverria is a Professor Emeritus at University of Northern Iowa. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Presbyterian College, St. Petersburg, FL, and a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR.
“The works in this exhibition have abstract, figurative, and thematic facets; I have done them as explorations into what was yet unknown and unseen as I made them. So, one of the joys in seeing them together is realizing a bit more fully what each work is. For instance, in the presence of the sensation of floating, fish, and undersea in some of the works, that feeling of floating becomes very obvious in Andere Goldene Dinge from 1964, done decades before the more overtly fished and floating works.” |
