Presenter: Dr. Sarah Allred, Associate Professor of Sociology at Berry College.
Most children in developing countries live their daily lives without shoes. These children often have to walk many kilometers to and from school in all weather conditions without any footwear. TOMS Shoes is addressing this problem by donating a pair of shoes for every pair bought. Dr. Allred will be speaking about the health concerns that exist when children in third-world countries do not have proper footwear for the terrain. Many diseases can spread through direct contact with contaminated soil, which is one of the main purposes for TOMS existence and mission. |
Location Information: Main Campus - Krannert Center Room: Spruill Ballroom
